BUFFALO – Division Chief Scott Barry tells Erie County Fire Blotter if a neighbor next door to 528 East Ferry Street didn’t look out his window after hearing popping noises and noticing his lights dim, the fire Buffalo Bravest had to fight Friday morning would have been much worse. That neighbor noticed the fire on the building’s number 3 side and called 9-1-1. When crews arrived, three attack lines were laid into the building and to the rear yard to fight the fire. Electrical Fire at Sloan Super Meat Market

SLOAN – The Sloan Super Meat Market will be shutdown pending the green light to reopen from the County Health Inspector. This after an electrical panel in the store malfunctioned causing a fire. Sloan Firefighters responded Thursday afternoon and was able to extinguish the fire, which was contained to the electrical panel, using a fire extinguisher. Amherst Paint Store Fire

AMHERST – An Amherst paint store is closed Thursday following an overnight fire. Amherst Fire Control tells Erie County Fire Blotter they received several calls from passer bys reporting that the Benjamin Moore Paint Store at 1405 Niagara Falls Boulevard was on fire. North Bailey Firefighters were toned out and within minutes First Assistant Chief Kent Richter arrived on location reporting a working structure fire. Three Transported to Hospital After Blasdell Blaze

BLASDELL – Smoke and flames forced two female residents out to a porch roof Wednesday morning. “First crew in, we laddered it and removed them from the roof and we had a secondary crew come in and put a knock down on the fire.” Blasdell Fire Chief Robert Michalski told Erie County Fire Blotter. The two females from the roof and a male, who self-evacuated from the house, were all taken by Rural/Metro Medical Services to the Erie County Medical Center. Helmuth’s Bob Feltz Golf Tournament

EAST CONCORD – Upwards of 80 golfers from Erie County came out to the Concord Crest Golf Course in East Concord to take part in the Helmuth Chief Council’s Annual Bob Feltz Memorial Golf Tournament. The four man scramble tournament started back in 2002 after Bob Feltz, an Assistant Chief with Langford-New Oregon Volunteer Fire Company passed away of Pancreatic Cancer.
